Most current Samsung refrigerators use one of two genuine filters: the square-headed HAF-QIN or the round HAF-CIN. They are not interchangeable.

Identifying your Samsung filter

  • Look at the filter in your fridge: a square head means HAF-QIN (DA97-17376B), a round one means HAF-CIN (DA29-00020B).
  • The filter code is printed on the label of the installed filter.
  • The filter light is a 6-month timer and must be reset by hand after a change.

Do HAF-QIN and HAF-CIN filters fit the same fridges?

No. The HAF-QIN has a square head and the HAF-CIN is round, so each only fits housings made for it.

Is the DA97-17376B the same as the HAF-QIN?

Yes. DA97-17376B is the cartridge number for the HAF-QIN/EXP filter.
